The GyrFalcon Audio Black Boxes are audiophile Digital to Analog
Converter modules specifically
optimized for high-end audio applications, where
standard off-the shelf DAC solutions are
not good enough in terms of audio performances and
input choices. The
result
of this proprietary and discrete design
concept is the most “analog like” system
in digital.
These modules
can receive digital audio directly in AES/EBU, I2S
or DSD format (depending on the selected version),
which then are all upsampled to 128FS 1-bit
delta-sigma through a proprietary algorithm that,
unlike standard digital filters, varies its
characteristics in time to safeguard the transient
nature of music signals.
Fully
compatible with the GyrFalcon CD and SACD
modules(GF8, CD-Pro2LF, GF6), these
“jitter-free” conversion modules will definitely
reach the highest sound performances for your
high-end audio applications.
Three versions
of these GF Audio Black Box are
available: Black
Box 192, Black Box 176,
and Black Box 0 modules.

The purpose of
the GF Audio Evaluation Board is very simple: to
test and evaluate the BB192 with the DAISy CD and
SACD modules (GF8, GF6 or CD-Pro2LF), and
to
operate in a
stand-alone mode in connection with standard digital
audio interfaces
up to
192kHz/24 bits. It provides all necessary control
and interfaces to work directly with the
plug-in D/A module BB192.
As shown by
the functional diagram below, the GF Audio
Evaluation Board provides several digital inputs
(AES/EBU, S/PDIF, TOS Link, USB), as well as for
GyrFalcon modules (GF8, GF6 and CD-Pro2LF), balanced
and un-balanced connectors for analog line-stage
audio outputs from DAC module, analog output headers
for audio signals from before the line stage
(balanced), Worldclock output, etc….
For
stand-alone operation without any other GyrFalcon
components, the GF Audio Evaluation Board also
provides a simple user interface to select input and
display vital statistics.
