addition to its product range, DAISy also
offers a custom design service based near Nantes in France. The in-house design team of
hardware and software engineers is able to
quickly implement the key components of
CD and DVD technologies into a design
which can meet our customer's requirements.
One area where DAISy engineers have been very
active is in the development of an advanced
man machine interface. User specified
processors can be used to control special
button combinations, motorised trays,
motorised lids and even if required an active
suspension. |

The
DAISy design team sees its skills and knowledge as
complementing those of the customers design team.
Its aim is to smooth the areas of the customers
product creation process which are outside their
specialist knowledge. In other words to keep them
out of trouble.
Great emphasis is placed on personal contact and
meetings are always arranged to discuss the customer's
project, and any other points arising, before
a design is started. The DAISy laboratories boast a
high level of equipment including precision dual
domain (frequency and time) audio measurement
equipment and state of the art CAD, simulation and
design proofing tools. There is also a verification
tool for measuring the ability of a CD
and DVD player to
play back a disc (playability tester). Normally this
level of equipment is only to be found inside large
organisations.
|
| The
design team has many years experience between
them. Its members are aware of the commercial
importance of short times to market and are
accustomed to working tight schedules.
Design-in cycles are kept short. Full
advantage is taken of any technological
development which will reduce the design
cycle. In most cases a prototype can be delivered
just six weeks after finalising the
specification. If required second and third
prototypes can also be supplied. |
