A Compact Disc application is usually built around a
CD module. The
module is made of a mechanism and a servo board.
Thanks to that servo board, the necessary optimization
process has already been made during the development
and production phases of the module. Thus, you can
easily build a CD player, since you only have to
develop the user interface, power supply and audio
converter board.
You can also develop the electronics which controls
the optical unit. In this case, you will only
need a CD mechanism. However, a serious knowledge of
optical data retrieving is required. Indeed, you
will have to develop the servo board which
transforms the HF signals in digital audio data,
before they are transferred to the audio converter board. Note that the
time-to-market period will often be much longer,
because of the complexity of both, the hardware and
software, which control the optical unit.
In order to make easier the
development of the user interface, DAISy can supply a display kit and a remote
control handset. The display kit
includes a suitable firmware which takes care of the
user commands and drives the FTD display accordingly. The remote
control handset can also be customized with the logo
of your company.
DAISy can provide a universal CD Evaluation
Board too : it is a plug-and-play tool which can be
connected to most of our modules. Such a tool can be
used to evaluate our products, to reduce your
development time and to check the functionality of
your application.
Finally, we can offer products which are commonly
used in the jukebox market : thus, a turret kit is
proposed in order to make a CD-Pro2LF module suitable for jukebox
disc-loading systems.
