Description of the standard display kit |
|
|
|
 |
|
|
|
The standard
display kit includes the following items :
|
 |
Vacuum
Fluorescent Display 6BT-165- GK
This robust and bright VFD can display CD-related information in the
colour of your choice thanks to the appropriate filter. |
 |
Display
holder
The display holder keeps the VFD in position and protects the vacuum tap of
the glass display. Besides, the holder is
built in such a way that the display driver can be mounted under the
display : thus, it allows very short leads and makes much easier the
PCB layout. |
 |
Display
driver TMP47C212
This microcoprocessor drives the different grids and segments of the
VFD according to the buffer it receives from the user
microcontroller. It also scans the keypad matrix to know what key
has been pressed. |
 |
4MHz
Ceralock
This ceramic resonator is intended for the display driver TMP47C212. |
 |
User
microcontroller P80C32
This user microcontroller communicates with the module (DSA
interface) on one side, and exchanges
information with the the display driver and IR-Receiver
on the other side. |
 |
Eprom
27C256
This Eprom is actually the external memory of the user
microcontroller. It is pre-programmed with a standard user software,
which provides a
friendly CD-player interface. The software takes care of receiving
commands from the remote control handset,
scanning the keypad matrix, analyzing these commands and displaying
information accordingly, sending DSA commands to the module, ... |
 |
Infra-Red
Receiver Temic TSOP1736
This component receives RC5 codes from the remote control handset
and forwards the information to the user microcontroller. |
|
|
|
Note : the user microcontroller
communicates with the CD module via the standard DSA interface. In
order to know more about the DSA interface,
you can have a look in the
"technology" section.
For a specific module, the complete DSA specifications
can be found in the corresponding download section.
