CD-Pro2LF
New
high-end standard
for the audio industry |
|
 |

|
RoHS
compliance |
|
The famous
CD-Pro2M has been upgraded in order to comply
with the new RoHS directive on hazardous
substances.
The resulting module has been renamed
CD-Pro2LF for "Lead Free".
It continues to offer an excellent reliability
and an unmatched playability, in accordance
with the reputation of the CD-Pro family in
the high-end and professional markets.
The CD-Pro2LF module is indeed RoHS compliant, which means that it complies with
the RoHS directive that took effect on July
1st,
2006.
RoHS stands for "Restriction of Hazardous
Substances" and refers to the 2002/95/EC
directive adopted in February 2003 by the European
Union.
RoHS is often referred to as the
"lead-free" directive.
|
|

|
|
Complying with the RoHS
directive actually means that the concentrations of
the following substances are below 0.1% in the
entire CD-Pro2LF module :
- Pb (lead)
- Hg (mercury )
- Cd (Cadmium)
- Cr VI (chromium 6)
- PBB
- PBDE
(except for Cadmium : concentration is below 0.01%)
The limits do not apply to the weight of the
finished product, or even to a component, but to any
single substance which could be separated
mechanically (for instance, the sheath of a cable).
The CD-Pro2LF module is RoHS compliant. But you must
verify that all other parts in your transports
comply with the RoHS directive too.

|

|
|
RoHS applies to the products made or imported into
the European Community.
However, it's leading a worldwide shift to
environmental regulation, and environmental
legislation is currently been written in U.S.
states, Canadian provinces, in China, ...
As a result, you might be very soon affected by the
RoHS compliance, even if you do not sell into
European countries.
We consequently advise you to check that your end
products are fully RoHS compliant. Since the
CD-Pro2LF module and its related components (display kit,
power supply unit, ..) already comply with the RoHS
directive, it should be easier to proceed with the
rest of your application.
