Thanks
to this top-of-the range Pscan HDMI board, the
digital video signals (YCbCr) from the SD6.3v module
are processed to give true flicker-free
de-interlaced pictures (doubling the vertical
resolution of the picture).
This
board includes indeed the best progressive-scan
technology, known as "Full motion
adaptation", which optimizes clarity and
sharpness of the picture, while suppressing motional
artifact on fast moving parts.
Last but not least, the quality of moving images is
further enhanced thanks to the well-known DCDi
algorithm developed by Faroudja, which computes the
angles of edges and uses these information to
optimally fill in the missing pixels. Thus, it
eliminates all remaining motion problems ("jaggies")
generated by interpolation.
Without forgetting the possibility to upscale the
image resolution : 480p, 720p, 1080i, ... Besides, several
adjustments can be done directly from the On-Screen
Display menu of the DVD module : Chroma, Luma delay,
Gamma, Sharpness, ...
A HDMI interface is also available, including the
required HDCP encryption process.
Thanks to the HDMI interface, the audio and
video signals can be transmitted in digital format
from the DVD source to the display device.
As a consequence, the signals are not subject
anymore to interferences which were previously
altering the analogue signals during the
transmission.
As a consequence, the resulting picture quality is
excellent and can suit the most recent large screen
HDTV sets and video-projectors.
