As our video modules provide digital
video signals (YCbCr), high-end manufacturers
require in addition of these modules some specific
video components for their applications like a range
of progressive Pscan Boards with HDMI outputs.
Due to the expansion of HDTV sets and high-end video
projectors, we include in our P-Scan HDMI Boards the
latest technologies to provide a picture with an
enhanced clarity and sharpness: first, our products
use the Progressive-scan technology,
which differs from interlaced scan in that the image
is displayed on a screen by scanning each line (or
row of pixels) in a sequential order rather than an
alternate order, as is done with interlaced scan. As
a result, you get a smoother, more detailed, image
can be produced on the screen that is perfectly
suited for viewing fine details, such as text, and
is also less susceptible to interlace flicker.
Then, our range of P-Scan HDMI Boards uses an internal
deinterlacing chip from Genesis/Faroudja.
The role of this chipset is to compute the angles of
edges and uses these information to optimally fill
in the missing pixels. Besides, its purpose is to
eliminate jagged edges (jaggies) along diagonal
lines caused by interpolation.
As the HDMI interface became the most common
interface for high-end video players, our range of
P-Scan Board naturally include HDMI outputs with
HDCP encryption processes.
