Running a DSA
application from a computer
|
|
Thanks to the
DSA
PC
software,
you can control from an IBM-PC compatible computer
any audio/video CD
application which has a DSA interface. Using the PC,
you may control the application to play a specific
track, stop, jump and many other commands as
described in the DSA specifications.

Hardware requirements
|
|
Any
IBM compatible PC will work properly. The computer
must have at least one parallel port available. The
software can be installed to work with LPT1 or LPT2
under DOS3.3 or upward. It is possible to run the
DSA software in a DOS-shell under Windows.

In order to install the
software, you just have to unzip the files into a
specific directory of your hard drive, for instance
'dsadirectory'

|
Getting to work
|
A
DSA interface cable (cf.
previous page) has
to be connected to the
parallel port LPT1 of your PC
on the one hand, and to the DSA application or
module on the other hand.
Then,
you can power up your PC, as well as your CD
application (Please, refer to the specifications of
your module for power supply requirements).
