Selecting another
parallel port
|
The DSA program uses
LPT1 as default port. If the user wants to use LPT2, this can be done by
adding an option in the command line :
dsa/LPT2 <return>
This will run the DSA program using LPT2

The .INI file
|
When starting the DSA.EXE program, it first reads the DSA.INI file. In this DSA.INI file the
user can define the way the DSA program is initialized. For instance, the DSA commands
which correspond to the function buttons (F1 - F12)
are defined in this DSA.INI file. It is a standard ASCII file, so it can be
modified by a normal editor.
The first section of
the DSA.INI file is called the "USER FIELD DEFINITION" section.
In this section, the user defines on which position of the screen the
information has to be shown.
The second section
is called the "SHORT CUT KEYS" section. In this part, the user
may program a whole sequence of commands under one key. When the DSA
program is executed and the user pushes one of the function buttons, the
sequence defined here will be sent to the module. Function may be combined
with the <ALT> or the <SHIFT> buttons.
The user may use
multiple .INI files. Using a user defined .INI file at startup can be done
by typing:
dsa
<filename> <return>
When no filename is
supplied, the DSA program will use the default DSA.INI file.

Working with a .LOG
file
|
In the same
directory a batch file called D.BAT can be found. When running this
batchfile with :
d <return>
the batchfile will
run the same DSA.EXE program, but the messages transmitted and received
are not only displayed on screen, but as well stored in a logfile called
"DSALOG.LOG". Be careful : this log file may get VERY LONG and
even fill your hard disk completely. So do not start a log file session
and then walk away.

Advanced functions
|
|
Using more advanced
features of the program are described in the DSA.DOC file which can be
found in the same directory.
